Prosecution seeks 7yr jail for Khaleda

The prosecution has sought seven-year jail for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case. Chief Prosecutor Mosharraf Hossain Kajal said his team proved Khaleda abused power and amassed immense wealth behind the poster of Zia Charitable Trust.

“She abused power and amassed wealth for personal purposes,” he told the court.

Previously on August 8, 2011, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed the case with Tejgaon Police Station, accusing four people, including Khaleda, of raising funds for the trust from unknown sources through abuse of power.
