Students have been out on the streets since July 29, demanding safe roads and justice for the two students who were killed in a road accident on Dhaka Airport Road

Prime minister's ICT Adviser Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed Joy has said BNP and Jamaat are spreading false stories online to incite the students who are protesting in demand of safe roads.

He posted a status on his official Facebook account on Saturday.

In the status, he wrote:  “Our Awami League government has agreed to all the demands of the student road safety protesters and already started implementing them. The police were instructed to act with extreme restraint. Yet, we see that a group is spreading false stories and old pictures online in an attempt to incite the students further.

He said: “Also today the BNP stated that this is the beginning of a movement against the government. All of this together shows a clear connection to the BNP-Jamaat attempt to cause violence and disruptions as they have not gotten any public support for their own demands.

“The BNP-Jamaat are obviously behind spreading false stories online to incite students. Are the quota protesters taking money from BNP-Jamaat in return for organizing protests? It seems far too coincidental to me. The only ones suffering are the common citizens,” Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son said.

Students have been out on the streets since July 29, demanding safe roads and justice for the two students who were killed in a road accident on Dhaka Airport Road. Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College students Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib were killed, and several others were injured when a bus of “Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan” ploughed into a group of students on Sunday.
