PM donates Tk 20 lakh to each of Diya, Karim's families

20 lakh to each of the families of Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib, who died in a road crash on the Airport Road.

The prime minister called on the parents of Diya and Rajib at her office on Thursday. Then she consoled the bereaved family members and said she would stand by the families with all possible supports.

On July 29, two students of Dhaka’s Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College -- Diya Khanam Mim, 16, and Abdul Karim Rajib, 17, -- were killed as a bus of ‘Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan’ ploughed through some students in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road.

Following the deaths of two fellows, students of different schools and colleges took to the streets of Dhaka city for the fifth straight day today.
